Ready To Kick Into Gear

I had no idea how much I was ready for a new year, a fresh start! Since the novel Coronavirus hit, we have not been walking or getting outside for months! Either it was too hot over the summer or too cold in the winter! As for myself, I did supplement with indoor workouts! However, things have changed. One of my machines broke and I needed a change to my fitness routine. It is time to change it up! We are ready to kick into gear!

I am so excited to change up our routine. My son and I now walk around the park a minimum of one mile. Each day, I have been changing it up to where we easily walk 1 to 3 miles each day. I am purposely changing it up so he doesn’t get into a set routine and won’t be open to change. He loves his routine.

I also added a rowing machine as well! I am doing my best not to let myself feel down for too long. In between watching my favorite shows or even throughout the day, I like to do reps! Back in February, I saw an ad on Facebook for a squat machine. Right away it caught my eye because it looked silly, but when I took a closer look, I realized I could really use it in my home! I bought it on a whim within 20 minutes of seeing the ad. I opted not to get the resistance bands, weighted belt, and any other accessories. It is safe to say that I am the queen of yo-yo dieting & failing to stick to a workout routine. I have tried all the fad diets and weight loss pills with minimal success and no real long lasting results. Now that 40 is right around the corner, and I dont have the greatest health, I needed to take myself seriously and start holding myself accountable.

The last 6 months I have changed much of what I eat and increased my physical activity. I began to keep it very simple with wholesome foods and used simple equipment to help make working out enjoyable. 42 pounds later (YAY!) I am ready to find my strength with weight training, and I couldn’t be more excited.
