I love being a mom. Over a year ago, I added a dog to our family and our home has never been the same! My son is mostly doing his own thing, so having a dog to focus on really helped my mental health. I have a few very personal reasons why I wanted to add a dog to our family and I am so glad I did. I am also going to add another dog to our family in a few months! I am very excited and nervous. We found goodies for the pooch and person that anyone could appreciate! 

I love being a dog mom. I love spoiling him with all kinds of things. When I saw the opportunity to try new products and gadgets for myself, I knew I couldn’t pass them up! Last month, I was so close to buying a beanie that said “Dog mom” on it.

My dog seems to eat when he’s hungry. His eating habits changed last summer. He used to eat first thing in the morning. As soon as I put food in his bowl, he couldn’t eat fast enough. Now, he is in no hurry to eat like he used to be. I put food in his bowl and he can easily eat every other day. 

I was offered the chance to try lick mats and I chose some cute designs from Sodapup.

Duckies Lick Mat

I chose the Duckies Lick Mat because it has suction cups. I thought we could utilize it while I gave my dog a bath! 

Just because it has suction cups, you can still use it on the floor. You can suction them to hard floors or any type of surface. 

Zombies Lick Mat

I saw the zombies and I knew I had to have it. I am a huge fan of The Walking Dead. How could I pass up zombies?

Slow Feeder Bowls

I saw two different slow feeder bowls that were so cute and fun! 

The Honeycomb Slow Feeder Bowl is a hardy size bowl! I think it would be perfect for any size dog! My dog is a cavapoo and he weighs about 12 to 13lbs. I love the deep honeycomb shaped chambers. Perfect to serve wet and dry food together. 

The Water Frog Tray is a fun design too! The design offers different depths for eating. This will certainly encourage your dog to take their time eating! 

If you plan on adding a lick mat or slow feeder bowls to your collection, be sure to buy a few options, this way, you can rotate them. You can throw them in the dishwasher and still have a mat or tray to use! 

Dog Fashion 

Who doesn’t like dressing up their dog? I didn’t start buying cute vests for my dog until I saw my neighbors dressing up their dogs. Plus, the weather was cold outside. I have a few items for my dog to wear! I am so excited to add a new vest to his wardrobe!

When I saw the Dharma Dog Tiger Cape, I knew I had to have it! It reminds me of Tigger, Fred Flintstone, and a tiger! I wish they offered more patterns and colors! These are so cute. The cape is lightweight but fits perfectly. It is adjustable, so you have plenty of room to fit it to your pet.

I love the Dharma Dog Tiger Cape! It is very stylish and cute! With this style being called a cape, I was worried about it not staying in place! However, it has two ways to wrap around my dog. It goes around his neck and body! It stays secure and in place until I remove it. 

Dog Toys

My dog loves his toys. I try to rotate them as I don’t like his toys strewn all around the house. I also want to avoid him getting bored! 

I chose super cute toys for him to play with. I chose the Knotted Rope in Navy/Green and the Rope Ring in Blue/Turq. 

I love that these toys are made of wool and safe and non-toxic dyes! They are soft and allow him to chew and play! However, each toy only lasted about a weekend with him chewing on them! He did make a mess tearing the toys apart. However, I think the toys are worth it! 

My dog loved both toys! I certainly didn’t mind cleaning up the little pieces from the toys! All that matters is that my dog enjoyed the dogs and they kept him busy!

Goodies for the person 

My dog has the type of fur that should be groomed a few times a week. I try to aim for everyday or every other day! When I get lazy and miss a week, his hair will get matted! 

I also prefer to bathe and groom him at home. I just don’t have the time or budget to take him to the groomers every month! It seems I need to groom him at least once a month! 

When I saw the HandsOn Animal Gloves, I knew I could use these! 

I love that I can use them wet or dry. I can use them when I want to brush his hair or use them to help scrub him when I give him a bath! So far, I’ve used them to brush his hair and he loves it! He loves when I brush his hair with a brush or the HandsOn Animal Gloves! 

When I saw the Spleash, I thought it looked like a cool idea! 

The park we walk at is beautiful and a perfect place for the family to enjoy the fresh air! We actually have two parks nearby! Both parks have water fountains but they have been out of order for about a year now! It’s such an inconvenience for those of us who use the park! 

With the Spleash, I can now offer water to my dog when we are at the park! The Spleash is lightweight and easy to handle in my hand. I love being able to offer my dog water when he needs it! 

Who doesn’t love hand towels! I chose two sets of towels to represent my dog and future dog! 

My dog is a cavapoo, so I chose the Gigi Flour Sack Towel set! 

The colors and details are stunning! Gigi reminds me of my dog! He’s sweet and playful. When he gets used to people, he loves the attention he gets from them! There are times when he demands more attention too!

I also chose the Tommy Team Towel set since my next dog will be a goldendoodle. I am so excited! This year is huge for us. My offer was just accepted for a 3 bedroom condo and we should be moving in a few months! Around that time, the puppy should be ready to join our family!
