Earlier this year, a friend of mine shared what her husband gave her for Valentine’s Day and I thought it was incredibly unique and special. Her husband had a star map made for their anniversary! It was the sweetest gift I had ever seen. Before that, I had never heard of such a cool gift.

Now that I’m a single mom, I am enjoying life! Yes, my life has changed and parenting is a bit harder and stressful but I am looking at the positive side of things. I love trying new products, especially with fun scents. I am also in search of travel-friendly and compact beauty products I can take with me when I am out and about!
Since being married to my husband, I’ve learned many important lessons, but there is one that seems to be one of the most valuable.
Always make time for each other.
It’s been written about in countless magazine articles and relationship books, urging parents to find time in their busy schedules to “date” each other. However, this can be easier said than done when you have a family. There are also times when we’ve both worked a long work week and didn’t feel like leaving the house. My husband and I recently celebrated our ten-year anniversary and eight that we have been married. Thinking back, it’s been a crazy couple of years but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I was a little iffy to be sure but from the moment we met, we became best friends.

Today marks the 16th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. I originally wrote a post on the 10th anniversary but that post was deleted by mistake. When I discovered I deleted my original post, I have been meaning to re-write the post. This year, I decided to finally get my thoughts out and share what I remember.

When it comes to fashion and style, we opt for what is practical and affordable. I tend to shop at the same few stores for clothing. Even for our son, since he is growing, I aim to buy his clothes at only a few stores.

My husband and I just got our very first professional massage a few weeks ago, and boy I’m here to tell you I have honestly been missing out on this luxury in my life! The thing is it was a wedding gift and we honestly can’t afford to get them as much as we would like. After learning about the MyoBuddy® Pro Massager I knew it was exactly what we needed in our new journey together…. [read more]

Starting Over: Life After Tragedy
Waking up I remembered nothing. The slate was blank, then the sudden rush of pain overwhelmed me. Looking down I realized both arms were splinted; my knee had about ten stitches, and from my calf down to my toes was also in a cast.
I admit it; I love romance novels. Sound the alarms! After all, romance novels are not usually listed among the world’s most esteemed pieces of literature (even though they can tell us a lot about different cultures’ romantic ideals), and several of them certainly do lack quality writing or unique plot elements. But I love them anyway, whether they’re historical Westerns or simplistic contemporary novels–and I’m certainly not the only one who does–so I was thrilled to receive an Advance Reading Copy of Denise Grover Swank’s new book Only You as a reviewer!… [read more]
