… [read more]I have always kept hand sanitizer on-hand. I carry it with me in my purse or tote bag. I also have a bottle at our front door. My son knows to use it before we leave! We recently whipped up our very own Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer Gel that is also a kid-friendly formula!
I wanted to create hand sanitizer that is not only moisturizing but safe for all ages! Even before the Coronavirus and adapting to our new normal of staying at home, we have always washed our hands constantly and use hand sanitizer when we are out and about.
… [read more]Our school district first cancelled school the second week of March! That’s right! My son has been out of school since the second week of March! I do appreciate the time we’ve been spending together. Since we are stuck at home, we’ve been making our favorite treats! Get ready for our quarantine Peanut Butter Cookies!
Since we’ve been out of school for weeks now, I’ve been keeping us busy with cleaning here and there, watching videos, playing games, learning activities, and worksheets. In other words, we are always learning here at home! Even though my son likes routine, I get creative and try to change it up. We watch story time, watch animals at the zoo on webcams, etc.
… [read more]I start a new class this week! Last week was my Spring Break with college and my son’s school district cancelled school. So, we had the entire week off. Last Friday, it was announced that school will be closed until April 3rd, plus his Spring Break will stay as originally scheduled. He will be out of school through April 10th!

… [read more]When my son was younger, we rarely bought the sugary cereal. We usually stuck with Cheerios, however, every once in awhile we’d get him Froot Loops, Fruity Pebbles, or a variety pack! As a treat, I made us a Froot Loop Cake! Are you ready for the recipe?
As my son got older, we bought him a variety pack of cereal and he was amazed at the different flavors available. He was so accustomed to one type of cereal!
… [read more]I had my doctor’s appointment yesterday. I made this appointment about 3 weeks ago because at the time, I was sick in January and had a cough for 3 weeks! Not only that, my asthma was bothering me! After explaining my symptoms, the nurse started examining me and she knew immediately I have strep throat!
It’s been a rough few weeks. I’m trying to juggle two college classes, dealing with us being sick, and managing my blogs. I try to complete my school work early in the week so I have the rest of the week to relax.
I love blogging. I do my best to manage my time with writing too.
My son has been sick off and on for over a week! I kept him home for 2 days last week. I also kept him home yesterday.
All morning, I contemplated cancelling my doctor’s appointment. I waited 3 weeks too! Now that I know I have strep throat, I am so glad I didn’t cancel!
Since I kept my son home, I knew I couldn’t leave him home alone. Since I am a single parent with no help from his dad, I had to take him with me! Thankfully, my appointment was super quick!
The medical assistant took my temperature and my blood pressure. The nurse assessed my symptoms, listened to my breathing, and then checked my throat. Right then and there, she knew right away!
She prescribed me penicillin! It only took my pharmacy a few hours to fill my prescription! I debated whether to pick it up last night or wait until the next morning.
I ended up picking it up about 30 minutes after they called me to let me know my prescription was ready! I have to take the antibiotics for 10 days, two times a day!
I have never had strep throat before! Have you?
When we got home, I checked the back of my throat and I saw what the nurse saw too! I was worried that my son has strep throat too, so I checked his throat when we got home. It doesn’t appear he has strep throat!
I think my son has a cold that just won’t go away or keeps going around!
At the doctor’s office, I was amazed at how diligent they are with preventing the spread of germs and illnesses especially with the Coronavirus going around. They encouraged people to use hand sanitizer!
I am thankful I was able to get in to see the nurse right away and get out of there quickly. We did have to wait about 45 minutes for our ride home.
I have strep throat for the first time in my life. I started my 10 days of antibiotics! I did let my guy know. Thankfully, it sounds like he doesn’t have it! I am also relieved my son doesn’t seem to have it either! He would never take the antibiotics. I would have to get creative and crush the pills and put them in his food and drinks!
I am in the middle of the second week of college! Since I purchased a few items for myself and my son, I realized there were more supplies I needed. As a single mom, we are learning on a budget!
Last week, I decided I wanted to create small lesson plans at home for my son to work on. After seeing him doing different activities at school, I wanted to incorporate more learning opportunities at home.
