I have been a customer of Uber for years. Even when they had bad press about safety and such. I have always felt safe using Uber. Let’s compare uber vs. lyft.
I have always been loyal to Uber until now! So why the switch? I’ll get to that…. When it comes to Uber vs. Lyft, which one do you use?
I use Uber to get around town when I need to go somewhere. Otherwise, if I can purchase it online, I will do that.
I am thankful we have medical transportation provided for us through our insurance company. This allows us to get to and from our appointments! This saves me so much money!
Why I tried Lyft
My son and I had to go to the “urgent care” the other evening. My son was still sick and coughing a lot. I wanted to make sure he didn’t have strep throat like me!
Our Uber driver asked if I use Uber regularly. I told him yes. He suggested I download Lyft and use it a few times. Uber will then start sending your $5 and $10 coupons!
I’ve always avoided Lyft because I was too lazy to set up yet another account with an app! However, since I’m a single mom on a budget, I decided to try it.
Uber vs. Lyft
I had to go shopping for a few things which meant we had to get a ride. I opened up the Lyft app and priced out what a ride would cost. Then, I opened up Uber and plugged in the same info.
Guess what I found?
Lyft is cheaper. It was $2 less than what Uber was charging!
Lyft was cheaper for the ride home too! And yes, I did price them both out!
Compare Fares
Overall, now that I have both ride share apps on my phone, I plan on comparing fares from now on.
I am trying to watch what I spend but I also need to go places! I have heard before that Lyft is cheaper than Uber. Now, I’m a believer!
