Five Ways to Introduce Natural Products into your Home

Beauty Brite Disclosure

I’ve mentioned many times in my previous posts that I’m on a journey to replace all of my most used household items with natural products. Right now, I have successfully switched my home essentials to total plant-based cleaning products! I wanted to share some of my success with you guys and, hopefully, inspire you to swap natural and organic products for your current home routine!

1. Laundry:

laundry detergent sheets

This is the one area of my home that I REALLY struggle. I love for my laundry to have that fresh scent and it seems as though finding a natural option with a great scent is near impossible due to most brands not adding in those added fragrances. Realistically, those artificial scents are not good for the skin and can cause irritation. I’ve had great experience with Dreambly Laundry Sheets. One sheet has a 6-in-1 power to clean, reduce static, and remove stains. All sheets are 100% biodegradable. Sheets are scented with Essential Oils and contain no harsh chemicals. One sheet in a standard size load of clothes cleaned all the hard to remove stains my toddler picked up throughout the day all while leaving behind the scent of clean lemon sage! The best part is, Dreambly will save you money as one Laundry Sheet will replace most of your laundry essentials!

2. Cleaning Supplies

natural cleaning supplies

ALL of my cleaning supplies are plant-based and my favorite brand right now is Mrs. Meyers. From hand soap to countertop spray, Mrs. Meyers has you covered. Finding the plant-based products or natural products section in many stores can be difficult and, often, popular brands are expensive. This is where my FAVORITE company comes in and saves the day! I had no idea where to start and the reps at Grove Collaborative helped me pick products perfect for my home. Grove Collaborative ships all of my favorite plant-based cleaning supplies directly to my door once a month. Shipments are completely customizable and they have everything from cleaning supplies to paper products and beauty care. Right now, Grove Collaborative is offering 60 days of their VIP access for FREE. VIP access after will be $20 for 12 months and will give you free shipping and discounts on your favorite brands. Also, new members will receive a FREE five piece gift set. My most recent gift set contained Mrs. Meyers hand soap, dish soap, countertop spray, walnut scrubbing sponges, and a Grove brand storage caddy. Mrs. Meyers and Grove have awesome holiday scents like peppermint and pumpkin spice to leave your home clean and festive.

*Note, Grove Collaborative is not affiliated with Beauty Brite. I was not compensated or reimbursed for my review. The statements made regarding Beauty Brite are my honest opinions about an amazing company that I love*

3. Essential Oils

This is one of the easiest ways, in my opinion, to introduce natural products into your home. Using essential oils was how I got started into transitioning to completely natural and plant-based. The most user-friendly way to use essential oils is to add a few drops to a diffuser. Most brands carry oils that are specially formulated for specific ailments. My favorite oils to diffuse right now are spearmint, peppermint, and lavender. Spearmint and peppermint are great for clearing sinuses and stuffy noses. Lavender is wonderful for relaxation and sleep. If you’re looking into other ways to use oils, add them to your beauty routine! Adding a few drops of tea tree oil to your face wash or moisturizer will help clear oil and acne. Adding geranium rose to your shampoo or conditioner will leave you with softer hair. Just be sure to research oils before purchase as you want ‘pure’ oils. To save you some time, we have a few favorites that are tried and true to help ease your transition into natural alternatives.

4. Daily Skincare

natural skincare

When I first started having a routine, my skincare SUCKED. I used whatever drug store shelf product was cheapest and hoped for the best. I have terrible and oily, acne-prone skin. By biggest misstep as a teen and young adult was thinking that oil skin didn’t need a moisturizer (SHOCKING I KNOW). I have since learned a ton about how to manage hormonal acne and the best products for my face are ones without harmful ingredients and chemicals. Unfortunately, this means paying A TON for my skincare. I went on the hunt for a natural and affordable skincare routine and OZ Naturals has delivered. I took their online skin quiz and they picked out products that worked for my skin type. Right now I am using:

– Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser: 99% natural, this cleanser removes excess oil without leaving my face overly dry with that tight feeling. This little bottle packed a big punch with an abundance of vitamins to even skin tone and reduce inflammation

– Glycolic 30% Medium Strength Micro Peel: reduces fine lines and the appearance of pores. This peel is derived from sugar cane, but don’t let its’ natural base fool you, it gets deep to remove dirt and grime.

-Vitamin C Facial Serum: provides brighter and more radiant skin. Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C boost collagen and give younger looking skin

– Super Youth Retinol Moisturizer: 98.6% natural ingredients. Rich in antioxidants and skin repairing formulas. This moisturizer is lightweight and ideal for oily and acne prone skin but can be beneficial for any skin type

-Matrix 6 Mega Bright Eye Gel: 98% natural. Formulated to reduce puffiness and dark circles. Contains Apple Stem Cell, Caffeine, and Hyaluronic Acid to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

-Sweet Almond and Macadamia Nut Body Butter: 99% natural. Contains Omega Fatty Acids, making it perfect to treat dry and chapped skin.

Even if you don’t have oily and acne prone skin, I recommend this brand as they have products for ANY skin type. All items are affordable and ship free to domestic locations.

5. Bath Products

natural soap products

Most store brand soaps dry out my skin and exacerbate my Keratosis Pilaris. Even though they contain moisturizers, there are still those harmful chemicals. I am a sucker for a bar of natural, shea butter soap. I’m also a sucker for a company that donates proceeds from their products to charitable programs. Bubble Bee Soapery indulges both of my loves. They sell small business, US hand made soaps and donate part of the proceeds to bee farms around the US. All ingredients are organic and local. I am currently in love with their lavender scented bar soap, shower gel, and bath salt soak. It’s so relaxing to use at the end of a long work day. If lavender isn’t your thing, grab one of their other great scents and treat yourself to a spa day all while saving the bees!

This is just a small list of the many ways you can swap your favorite household items for natural products. Beauty Brite and myself, personally, LOVE to give recommendations and answer questions! Let me know if I can help guide you to a natural lifestyle.
