Spring is an exciting time of year! The weather is getting warmer and it is a time of renewal. For me, that means shaking myself out of my winter skincare/makeup routine and trying out some great new products. I can’t wait to tell you about a few of my new favorites!

When I worked in the salon industry for a number of years, Dermalogica products were always the top choice of estheticians. I always get excited when Dermalogica releases new products, it’s a chance to try something new and great! One of their newest products, Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair 1%, hit the shelves recently. If you’re looking for a powerful anti-aging product to brighten and boost your skin, this is it!

Overnight Retinol Repair 1% is made from pure Retinol, a mighty ingredient in boosting renewal of skin. This treatment is also blended with bioactive peptides and Vitamin C.  Squalene from Brazilian Sugar Cane restores lost moisture in the skin and Soothing Licorice Extract cures inflammation and redness.

Mix a little of the Overnight Retinol Repair 1% with a dab of the buffer cream and apply to freshly cleansed skin at night. If you find the formula a little too powerful, you can use the mixture every other night instead of daily. Once your skin has properly adjusted, you may use the Overnight Retinol Repair 1% alone with a dab of your moisturizer.

Dermalogica is one of my favorite professional products made for public use. After using this product for several weeks, I noticed that it made my skin tone more even and less irritated. Several of my breakouts actually cleared up too! The creases and lines in my face were less obvious too (that’s always a plus!)

I’m always on the hunt for sassy and new ways to spruce up my look for date night. Bodyography Glitter Pigments are a fun product I’ve enjoyed using. These beautiful glitter pigments by Bodyography are the combination of a loose pigment, a cream, and a powder all in one.

I like that I can add a drop of water to magnify the intensity of these powders for a more dramatic look. The gel formula prevents fallout and won’t leave you with a sparkly mess all over your face. I recommend applying these with your fingers and you’ll have a pretty, feminine look that will last all night.

Bodyography Skin Perfecter Concealer has become an essential in my makeup bag! This handy little tube has my whole face covered. It works great for my embarrassing under-eye circles and when used all over my face, it leaves my skin with a glowing, even tone. It is packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals; never leaving me with a “cakey” look.

Life On Mars makes fun cosmetics with a rock n’ roll/David Bowie edginess. They’ve taken out all of the unhealthy, yucky stuff and created quality makeup that is actually good for you.

I like that this company offers beautiful nail color without compromising our health. Life on Mars polish contains no formaldehyde, toluene, camphor, DBP, parabens, or gluten. It is vegan, cruelty-free, and made in the USA! I had the privilege of trying a sassy red, Brenda Starr, that instantly made me feel fierce. The warm, sunny color compliments every skin tone! The polish applies evenly and boldly. Start Me Up Base Coat is the right way to start your manicure and keep it from chipping. I especially like to use it when giving myself a pedicure. Desert Star Quick Drying Top Coat seals the deal and gives my nails that shiny, freshly polished look for days.

Life On Mars also makes great skin care products, like face oils. All you need is a dab and these oils will work wonders! All formulas are made from organic essential oils and contain no mineral oil.

Organic Vega Balancing Facial Oil is perfect for skin like mine, with frequent breakouts and congestion. This powerful, clarifying formula blended with tea tree and thyme keeps my skin soft and break-out free. I apply this after I’ve cleansed and toned my face.

Organic Nova Energizing Facial Oil is perfect for all the sun lovin’ ladies out there! Blended with orange, grapefruit, and vanilla it heals skin and smells terrific. These antioxidants encourage cell renewal, heal damage from the sun, and keep your skin nicely hydrated. This is a great product to prepare your skin for the summer!

Dealing with dull, lackluster skin? You’ll want to give Organic Luna Hydrating Oil a try! This oil is blended with Lavender, Neroli and Clary Sage. This formula will promote circulation and a healthy, hydrated glow.

Organic Weightless Foundation & Concealer works well all over the face, especially on dreaded under-eye circles and breakouts. It feels light/breathable on my skin and blends very naturally. Vitamin E, organic coconut, jojoba seed, castor seed oil & cocoa seed butter work together to create a hydrating formula that won’t leave your skin with that yucky, oily feeling.

It’s also a good idea to change up your hair and styling products. I usually don’t require as many balms or heavy products for my hair when warmer weather hits. I have fallen in love with Eufora’s Aloetherapy Moisture Mist For Hair and Body. This product works from head to toe! Stem cells from the aloe plant gently hydrate dry, itchy skin without leaving a greasy residue. Panthenol and a powerful Tri-Sugar Blend strengthen the hair shaft from the inside out. This worked for me as a great weightless hair moisturizer and hydrating, cooling mist for my skin. A perfect option for the Spring and Summer; just toss it in your beach bag and go!

Does your hair get a little frizzy and untamed as the temperature heats up? Mine does and it can be an unruly mess! It’s crucial for me to use the proper products. I’ve even noticed that my hair seems to be growing faster since I’ve started using Smooth Again Wash and Rinse.
