I love our dog. He’s been a part of our family for almost two years. It was a long and emotional journey to find the perfect pet for us! I also enjoy spoiling him! I consider myself a fairly new dog parent, I am always learning and open to trying different products! I am excited to share how to keep your dog clean with gentle products! 

I am a stay at home mom and care provider to my son. My dog keeps me company during the day. He will cuddle with me, follow me around, and just be there for me. He is the perfect sidekick! 

I enjoy taking him for walks throughout the day. Our walks benefit the both of us: it gets us outside as well as exercise and fresh air! 

Being on a budget, I decided to groom and bathe him at home. I did get him groomed professionally once and I was disappointed with everything! I now groom and bathe my dog without having to wait for an appointment! I believe I save time and money by grooming my dog at home. 

When I groom my dog, I like to also give him a bath. I also give him a quick bath or rinse when we go for a walk and he comes home muddy.

How to keep your dog clean with gentle products

Shampoo

Start with a gentle shampoo, such as Dandylion Soothe Gentle Cleansing Dog Shampoo! 

This shampoo is thin and easy to massage into a lather! I am able to gently clean my dog’s fur, skin, and paws without worrying about drying him out! While it is fragrance-free, it does have a nice clean smell! 

I only needed a few pumps of the Dandylion Soothe Gentle Cleansing Dog Shampoo for my small dog! I wanted to give him a thorough clean around his face and paws! 

Conditioner

I have never used a conditioner on my dog. I never thought I would need it. I do find myself brushing him every other day or several times a week because his fur easily tangles and knots together.

The Nourish Gentle Hydrating Dog Conditioner is gentle on my dogs fur and skin! As with my hair, I let the conditioner sit for a few minutes. So, when applying to my dog’s fur, I let the conditioner sit!

After only one use of Dandylion Soothe Gentle Cleansing Dog Shampoo and Nourish Gentle Hydrating Dog Conditioner, my dog’s fur feels so much softer! I love cuddling and petting him even more and he definitely doesn’t mind the added attention. Brushing his hair is much easier too. 

Clean dog paws

How do you clean dog paws?

I always wipe my dog’s paws before letting him loose in the house. I’ve been using homemade wipes. I basically cut paper towels into squares and fold them into a triangle. I then put them in a plastic container with water and just a little white vinegar! While this can be tedious and wasteful, I found a quicker way to clean my dog’s paws!

The Clean Paws No-Rinse Foaming Cleanser is quick and easy to use. Just pump the product and gently scrub each paw clean! The soft bristles allow me to thoroughly clean between his paws. 

Conclusion

I am thoroughly impressed with how soft and manageable my dog’s fur is. He is much more cuddly now! I also appreciate that I can save time and money by using the foaming cleanser on his paws. It’s super easy and allows me to quickly clean his paws!
