Put Some Pep in Your Prep

Put Some Pep in Your Prep

It wasn’t so long ago when prepping your skin before applying makeup was simple. For me, it consisted of only applying moisturizer. The idea of a primer or lip treatments weren’t really available or even popular. Today, all of that has changed and I put a lot more pep in my prep.

In all reality, I’ve been using primer for a long time. But now, it seems every year I’m adding some new type of serum, treatment, spray, mask, etc., to my skincare and makeup routine. This time, the new additions include Coola’s Daydream SPF 30 Mineral Makeup Primer and Patchology’s FlashPatch Lip Gels.

Coola’s Daydream SPF 30 Mineral Makeup Primer

When it comes to finding a great primer, my must haves are simple. It needs to provide additional hydration to my skin, apply smoothly, feel breathable on my skin, and help my makeup last all day. The Coola Daydream Primer does all of this and more. In addition to doing everything a primer should, it also helps protect my skin from the sun with its signature mineral broad spectrum SPF 30 and Plant Protection.

The formula is lightweight and applies evenly. It also helps smooth out imperfections, such as large pores or uneven texture, reduces redness, and blurs fine lines. Ingredients like Honeysuckle Stem Cells, White Lily Stem Cells, and Iris/Orris Stem Cells protect against free radical damage and visible signs of aging, as well as help regulate my skin’s natural moisture barrier for increased hydration.

Coola Mineral Primer Swatches

As a fan of Coola’s cruelty-free sunscreens, liplux line, and BB Cream, I’m thrilled to add their primer to my makeup prep. I found it to be highly effective at leaving my skin feeling amazing all day long, while also keeping my makeup looking fresh. I also like the fact that it protects my sensitive, pale skin from the sun and other environmental elements.

The second item I looking forward to adding to my prep routine is the Patchology FlashPatch Lip Gels. Although, I was only sent one to try, I’m an instant fan of this cruelty-free brand, and not just because I love any type of facial mask. Though my lips don’t look it, they often feel dry. In the fall and winter, they are extremely dry. I’m always looking for new ways to help with the hydration issues so I don’t have to use so much lip balm.

The Patchology FlashPatch Lip Gels help smooth, moisturize and revitalize lips using a combination of their signature HydraSurge5 Moisture System and lip patch material. This combination not only helps improve the look and feel of lips, but also means I only need to wear the patches for 5 minutes. Even after one use, I noticed a difference in my lips. They looked smoother and plumper and felt extremely hydrated. I’m curious to how my lips will continue to improve with more use.
