My Day Away from Home

Today is Good Friday. I was off of work today and my son is also off of school. Today is a huge day for my husband as it is his midterm. Since my husband needed to do his midterm online, we decided that my son and I would spend the day at a local hotel. This way, my husband can concentrate on his midterm while my son and I are away from home.

This morning, I was pretty productive knowing that I wouldn’t be home all day. I treated myself to a dead sea mud mask which I always enjoy. I also worked out on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I know I would probably be too tired to do yoga or pilates in the evening. Plus, I love to switch up my workouts.

My husband dropped us off at the hotel about 5 hours ago. His midterm started at 1 PM and is scheduled until 8 PM. Since we are about halfway through, I have taken the time to get caught up on my blog, emails and relaxing!

My son is having the best time. I took him for a walk to CVS that is about a block and a half away. At checkout, I ended up signing up for their rewards card. I bought snacks for him, Starbucks and Vitamin Water for me and also disinfecting wipes to use around the hotel. As soon as we got back, I got my son settled in with his snacks and I quickly used the disinfecting wipes around the hotel on the surfaces would we be using.

We have a few restaurants nearby and I looked at their menus online. As soon as my son is ready to eat, I plan on going to the restaurant next door. However, I don’t think he will be getting hungry anytime soon. He is so excited about being in a new environment.

Our room is at the very end of the hall, which is near the stairwell and the elevator. I have heard one particular couple every time they have walked by and it always sounds like they are talking loudly to each other (not quite yelling) or arguing with each other.
