Is This The Next Great, Affordable Makeup Brand?

I love being able to try products from brands I’m not familiar with and hopefully shine a spotlight on smaller companies people don’t know about… but should! Could Beauty Junkees be one of those brands?

Beauty Junkees is an online beauty company that offers a wide range of an affordable beauty products. You’ll find everything from eyeshadows to blushes, lipsticks, brushes, and palettes. I recently had the opportunity to test out three liquid lipsticks, a couple shadows, and blushes.

Let’s start with what I’m sure will be the most popular, the Matte Liquid Lipsticks ($14.97). Everyone loves liquid lipsticks and we’re always on the hunt for the next great lipstick. If it comes at an affordable price tag, it’s even better. These are a little different because they’re water resistant, they offer three times the pigment, and they’re super light weight. Not to mention they’re made in the USA, paraben-free, gluten-free, and cruelty-free. I tested out the shades Metallic Sorbet, Dinner Party, and Soul Mate. There is a minor scent to them, but once I started wearing them, I couldn’t smell it. They go on pretty nicely, the pigmentation is good, and they do last. A lip balm is definitely needed, at least for me it was. Soul Mate was my favorite and the perfect everyday liquid lipstick. Dinner Party is great for a night out, and Metallic Sorbet is just a fun color to wear.

For shadows, I tried out 113 Peachsicle and 238 Peach Vanilla ($8.97 each). They’re both pretty light shades and work great as a base shadow. You can also use these for your “no makeup, makeup” days. Throw one of these shadows on, some liner, and mascara, and you’re good to go. The pigmentation is pretty good, the blend easily, and with a primer, they won’t crease as quickly. I didn’t like these particular colors, but I’d definitely test out other, darker shades, and other formulas to see how they work.

Lastly is the Peach Petal Blush and Pow! Highlight Dup Collection ($14.97). At first, I wasn’t sure about these colors. I didn’t think they were going to work with my skin tone. Peach shades, in general, don’t always work out for me, but these are really nice. The blush isn’t super pigmented, but it’s easy to blend and work with so you can easily build up the color to the intensity that you want. For me, I prefer a more subtle blush application. The POW! highlighter does have a slight peach tone to it, but it’s still something that those with lighter skin tones can easily pull off. For me, this was too light. But it does give a nice subtle sheen to the skin. Both products could make nice eyeshadows.

I think for the price, these are worth checking out if you’re makeup obsessed like I am. However, I feel like there are other brands are there that are just as affordable, and easier to get, that are better in quality and pigmentation.

If you’ve tried anything from the brand or these products, let us know in the comments below. We’d love to hear your thoughts!
