Happy Mother’s Day

Are you a mom? Today is Mother’s Day. Celebrate. Take time for yourself.

Enjoy your day with family, friends and loved ones. How do you celebrate? Do you have any family traditions? I wish I could say that my family and I have a special day planned. I never receive any special gifts or goodies. I do take the time to be thankful for my family.

Yesterday, my son brought home a gift he made at school. He painted a clay pot and it has a Polka Dot Plant in it. It is so cute! I love houseplants, so I think it is the perfect gift. Earlier this week, I had to throw away my houseplants that were in pots. I kept my air plants though. I wanted to make it easier for us to move. Air plants are easy to care for, no soil required and I water them once a week. Once we get settled in, I want to look into getting houseplants again. Plants naturally purify and clean our indoor air. Plus, they are calming and beautiful to look at.

This week, we hope to purchase a washer and dryer for our apartment. We hope retailers have Mother’s Day sales to help save us on such a huge purchase. The last time we bought a washer and dryer was in 2004. We just happen to shop on Black Friday and we got a really great deal! We’re hoping for a great sale this week!
