Trying to build a career while taking care of a family is hard work. I often feel exhausted, stressed, and anything but beautiful. My husband and I like to make date night a priority at least once a week. I like to take a little extra time on my hair and makeup so I feel pretty; not just for my husband, but also for myself.

I love trying out new styles of hair and makeup; my Pinterest boards are filled with all sorts of inspiration! I recently stumbled upon the Pro Beauty Tools 1″ Professional Iridescent Curling Iron and the Cargo Cosmetics Land Down Under Eyeshadow Palette; I had to have these products! I knew I could implement them to achieve a gorgeous and unique date night look that I’m excited to share with you.

The Pro Beauty Tools 1′ Professional Iridescent Curling Iron is not only lovely to look at, it works great! It heats up incredibly fast so I can quickly achieve flirty, bombshell curls that make me feel date night ready. Built with rapid heat recovery and pulse technology, the variable heat settings allow the iron to reach 430 degrees. I also like that the cord swivels easily as I move and helps prevents nasty tangling.

To achieve my curls, I start by holding the curling iron with the clasp facing front. Then, I will clamp a 1.5 inch section of my hair about an inch from the end. I like to curl the hair outwards from my face. I usually hold the iron in place for about 10 seconds because my hair is fine textured. Cargo Cosmetics Land Down Under Palette was everything I’ve been looking for in a palette for a long time. The colors are gorgeous; lovely beachy neutrals and jewel tones that really played up my blue eyes. These colors are great for summer, but you would have no problem using this palette year-round to achieve beautiful looks. This paraben-free palette set also includes a double-ended eye shadow brush and a black eyeliner!

To achieve my look:

1. I applied a dab of eyeshadow primer to both eyelids and allowed the product to dry.
2. Next, I applied Opera as an all over base to my lid, crease, and brow bone.
3. In my crease, I applied a swipe of suntan; blending the shadow until I’d reached just the perfect amount of drama.
4. I applied Manly over my lid until I reached the amount of pigmentation that was vibrant, but not over the top. Adjust the amount you use to fit your personal style.
5. Using my pinkie, I applied a sparkly swipe of Beach over my brow bone. It added the perfect finishing touch.
6. I topped off my look with my favorite dark brown mascara and liquid liner to tie everything together!
