Sleep your way to hydrated lips

Beauty Brite Disclosure

Regardless of the time of year, my lips are dry. Of course, it’s worse during the fall or winter, but even in the summer, they lack hydration. This is why you’ll find lip balms all around my house and in my bags. Recently, I was able to reduce my need for lip balm with the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It allows me to sleep my way to more hydrated lips.

Hydrated Lips Overnight

If you read my recent K-Beauty skincare post, you know I’m a big fan of Laneige. They’re always coming up with innovative products to help your skin look and feel amazing. When I heard about their new lip sleeping mask, I couldn’t wait to try it. Having hydrated lips is a priority for this lippie junkie because dry lips make my lip products look less than stellar.

There are a lot of things to love about this mask, in addition to what it does for the lips. For starters, it smells delicious. The vitamin and antioxidant-rich Berry Mix Complex give the balm a nice, light sweet fragrance that isn’t overpowering. I also happy to have the little spatula that came with the mask. It makes application easier and more hygienic.

As I mentioned above, the mask has a balm/gloss like texture. However, it’s not sticky and absorbs quickly into your lips so you don’t have to worry about it getting everywhere while you sleep. I sometimes like to keep it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. After a long hot day, it’s nice to treat your lips to a refreshing treatment.

Of course, the best part of the sleep mask is its ability to provide me with more hydrated lips. It’s able to accomplish this thanks to Moisture Wrap technology. This helps to lock in moisture, boost water retention and reduce flakiness, so you wake up to soft, supple hydrated lips.

I can’t speak to the reduction of flakiness, as I don’t encounter this problem during the summer. It is an issue I deal with during the cold, dry months. I’m hoping the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask will help prevent this come fall and winter.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – 10-day Test

Like most skincare, it takes consistent usage to see real results. I decided to document my experience with the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask over the course of 10 days. What I noticed right away is my lips didn’t feel dry or parched during the night. Occasionally, I will wake up at night with an urgent need for lip hydration. This doesn’t happen while using the sleep mask.

Over the ten days, I also noticed I didn’t need as much lip balm. The mask helped my lips retain more moisture. Not only did I have hydrated lips, I also had smoother lips. This made application of lipsticks and glossier easier. They would glide on without me having to worry about them sticking or skipping over dry patches.

I know this aspect will come in handy during the fall and winter when my lips flake and crack. I’m hoping that by making the lip mask a part of skincare routine I won’t have to deal with this when the air becomes drier.
