5 Essential Things To Do Before The Biggest Day Of Your Life

For most people, one of the biggest days in their lives is when they get married. Of course, that means there is a lot of preparation and organization to get right if your big day is to be everything you want. In fact, there are at least 5 Essential Things To Do Before The Biggest Day Of Your Life. A topic you can get the lowdown on in my post below.

5 Essential Things To Do Before The Biggest Day Of Your Life

Have the talk

Before you can do anything else, you and your SO need to have a talk about your marriage plans. In fact, it is common for this to happen before even getting engaged these days. After all, things are much more equal now, and that means no one should be surprised or feel pressured into a proposal that comes entirely out of the blue.

Additionally, there are many choices about the wedding, and concerning the life that you want to make together too. Such as whether you will have kids, where you will live, and what are your plans for the future are. All of which you need to make sure that you can compromise on before you take the plunge.

Choose an engagement ring

Once you have had the talk, and decide who will ask whom to marry them, its time to pick out engagement rings. Of course, you have a choice here of just having one person (the one that is proposed to) to wear a ring, or you can get a ring for both as a sign of your promise to each other.

Traditionally engagement rings are set with diamonds too, something that symbolizes the lasting nature of the commitment made. Although there are a great many different styles to choose from.

In fact, you can check out these stunningly beautiful engagement rings to get an idea of the type of cut, setting, and bands that are on offer. Just remember that it is perfectly acceptable to make or receive a proposal without a ring now. Something that allows you to go and choose it later, together as a couple

A change that is most welcome in a lot of cases because it means people get to choose the perfect ring for them that they will be happy to wear for a lifetime.

Pick a date

The next thing you need to get sorted before you marry is a date for the wedding. Of course, you won’t be able to confirm an exact day until you have booked a venue, but you can certainly choose a season and the year in which to tie the knot.

Picking a wedding date

In fact, many couples give themselves at least a few years to save up and plan everything they want. Something that can be quite useful as venues and vendors tend to get booked up years in advance for weddings in the months from March to September.

However, if you were hoping to tie the knot a little quicker, there are other options to consider. One is to choose a winter date, as these don’t tend to book up so far in advance. You can also save quite a bit of money by doing things this way as well.

Alternatively, there is always the option of eloping and getting married somewhere else. In fact, in a place like Las Vegas, you can get a marriage license and have a service on the same day if you like. You can even have Elvis officiate if that’s your thing?!

Book a venue

If you don’t end up eloping to Vegas, the next task will be to find a venue that you love and to lock down the date that you want. To do this, you will need to pay a deposit, and it’s likely that you will need to make some decisions on whether you will have sole use or allow other guests to use the venue on the day of your wedding too. The latter being an option that can result in a lower price.

Additional details, including the food, drinks, decoration and entertainment, can be sorted out at a later date. Just don’t leave things too long as you wouldn’t want to miss out on something that you really need to make your big day as perfect as possible.

Find a dress

One your venue is booked, it’s time to get everyone kitted out in their wedding garb. A task that for the bride can often be the most exciting of all as they get to choose their wedding dress.

Of course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be any challenges along the way here, as finding a style of gown and the right accessories can be tricky. Happily, if you start well ahead of your wedding date, as dresses often need up to 6 months to be made to order, you should be able to get the perfect gown for you to have the most perfect of big days.
