Are you looking for ways to take your mind off of a bad day or to de-stress from a long work week? A great way to relax is by coloring in an adult coloring book. Before you start snickering or rolling your eyes, it’s true! Not only is coloring fun, think back to your days as a kid, it’s a perfect way to relieve stress. Mindware® offers a truly unique adult coloring book that I am currently enjoying along with a wide array of colored pencils.
I started using adult coloring books two years ago when I found out my dad had lung cancer. I needed something to help take my mind off of things, and working on a jigsaw puzzle wasn’t working. I went to Barnes & Noble to walk around and I saw a stand of adult coloring books. I browsed through them and found a few that I really liked. Within a week or two I was obsessed, and it was a great distraction.
If you want something fun, light, and easy, check out what MindWare® has to offer. A great option is one of the Wild Wonders Color by Number books. You have two pages to color: one that has the numbers that you match up with the number on the colored pencil, and another copy of the page where you get to choose the colors. The pages are easy tear so you won’t have to color directly into the book. I’m currently enjoying Book 3 in the Wild Wonders Color by Number book series, mainly because there’s a sloth you can color!
Each book includes twenty-two images printed on thick, artist-quality paper. The un-numbered pages have space where you can write in your customer color palette. For these books, the Set of Mindware® 36 Colored Pencils in a Tin is recommended because they have corresponding numbers on the paper and the pencils. I love that they do this in case you accidentally mix up the pencils and put them in a different spot. Just look at the pencil and grab the number you need. It’s easy… and stress free. These colored pencils are really good quality to help you bring your color by number picture to life. I mean, look at the wide array of colors, so beautiful!
If you want the books, but don’t plan on “coloring by numbers,†another option is the 24 Count Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I used this company’s markers during the short time I was studying interior design at the Illinois Institute of Art and they were amazing. These colored pencils are no different. They’re so pigmented and smooth! If you’re really into art and coloring, these are a great option, and super affordable! You can find them on Amazon or at your local art store.
If you’re in need of some de-stressing, I can’t say enough great things about these books and how they helped take my mind off of some bad days I was having. Let us know in the comments how you like to de-stress after a bad day!
