Instructions to make bath bombs:

Steps 1-5: In a large mixing bowl, add the baking soda, citric acid, dead sea salts and cornstarch. Whisk dry ingredients together.

Step 6: Add the coconut oil. This binds all the ingredients together, so you bath bombs don’t crumble when you touch them!

Steps 7-8: Add the polysorbate 8This helps the coconut oil disperse more evenly in your bath water, makes the bath bombs bubbly and prevents the mica from sticking to the side of the tub. Mix well. You may need to use your hands to break down any lumps and make sure everything is mixed in. The mixture is perfect when it holds together when you press it into your hands and feels like wet sand.

Steps 9-12: Add 1-2 drops of the red colorant. Mix well. Continue to add 1 drop of color until you achieve the color you desire. Add red cosmetic glitter.

Steps 13-14: Add bath bomb mixture to your mold. Fill to the top and pack down firmly. Allow to dry at least 24 hours. Release from mold.

Step 15: If you want, you can add some sparkle by adding red glitter to your bath bomb after it dries. I sprayed a bit of alcohol on the bath bomb and sprayed the red glitter. You can buy the dry sprayer from Amazon, or you can just sprinkle it on.

Instructions to paint bath bomb:

Steps 1-4: In a small container, add a pinch of black mica and a small squirt of alcohol and mix.

Steps 5-6: Using a small paint brush with a pointed end, dab the mica/alcohol mixture in the eyes. Sprinkle glitter and allow to dry. Store in an airtight container until ready for use.
