How to Keep Your Skin Youthful and Healthy

My family and I live on a budget, so I love using products that are affordable, versatile and low maintenance. As a beauty blogger at Beauty Brite, I have the opportunity to try many different products. Over the years, I’ve been able to try brands and products I never would have discovered had I not been a blogger. I am very thankful for the opportunities I am presented with.  I am also grateful I have an amazing audience, readers, subscribers and fans that visit often.

I may be a blogger, but I do have a budget. When it comes down to want versus need, I always choose what I can afford! I also prefer natural products because it means my entire family can use them without harming our household.

Each winter, the cold weather really dries out our skin. My son suffers from eczema so I apply extra layers of moisturizer/oil on his skin. My husband also experiences itchy, dry skin. With that, I use coconut oil on our skin. I apply coconut oil to my skin as well as our son’s skin. My husband is an adult so he chooses to use another lotion.

As I get older, I am very aware of the fine lines forming and I do use anti-aging products! I also have dry hands from the weather as well as washing my hands throughout the day.

Coconut Oil and Socks

Here are my tips on How To Keep Your Skin Youthful and Healthy

Supplies needed:

Gloves and a pair of socks or 2 Pairs of Socks
Coconut Oil or your chosen oil (almond oil, jojoba oil, argan oil)
Humidifier

Note: I use coconut oil because it is readily available at Costco, Amazon, Walmart or just about any grocery store in the cooking oil aisle. Be sure to choose organic, virgin or extra virgin Coconut Oil.

Directions:

Set up your humidifier in your bedroom. Keep it running all night. This will help add moisture to your space. Plus, it’s healthy for you and the air you breathe.

If you use coconut oil, it will be in solid form. Just add a dab to your palms and warm up the oil. As you are getting ready to go to bed, apply coconut oil on our face, neck and décolleté (this is optional). I do this because I want the extra moisturization and protection overnight. I actually apply coconut oil all over my body. It helps fade stretch marks, scars and helps calm itchy skin.

Next, slather the coconut oil on your feet! Cover your feet with one pair of socks.

Lastly, apply coconut oil to your hands! Cover your hands with a pair of gloves or a pair of socks.

I just recently started pampering my skin with these tips. I usually find myself taking the socks off my hands and feet after a few hours of wearing them. I am just not used to wearing socks on my feet and hands at night.

Your hands can show your age. I hate to admit that I have not been thinking of my hands.

These tips may sound silly but I am willing to slather on coconut oil to wake up to super soft skin.

Guess what, if you do use coconut oil, you can also slather on coconut oil on your scalp and hair. Leave it on overnight (or a few hours) and then shower as usual. This deep conditions your scalp and hair. You can also use coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner! So many uses with just one beauty product!
