Humans are a very diverse species. There are so many ways we are different from each other and an infinite number of ways to understand and address those issues.

One thing about us that is extremely interesting to me is how many different issues we have with caring for our facial skin. I didn’t realize until I got older myself and started having skin issues (resulting in researching the topic and reading about other women’s perspectives) how many different kinds of products there are and how many services can be utilized. It’s pretty mind boggling, honestly.

So, I won’t try to tell you which products are the best for each skin issue. You will have to do the research on different products for yourself based on your individual needs. My purpose here is to provide information on a few products that are new to me that you may be interested in looking into for your own personal use.

So, here are three products that I’m learning about that might be new to you, as well. I will leave it to you to decide if any of them might be something you’re interested in trying for your skin needs.

Over the last couple of months, I tried the first two collections myself since they address skin issues that I experience — dryness and dull skin. My teenage daughter (who occasionally has acne breakouts) tried the last collection and shared her thoughts with me.

Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminating Duo

Hanhoo’s line of Watermelon Illuminating Skin Care products is the most intriguing of the three that I’m sharing here. Not only because it’s a company that I’ve not heard of before, but also … watermelon. I mean, watermelon? I’ve heard of so many other products made with a dizzying array of ingredients but this is the first I’ve heard of watermelon as a skin care ingredient.

I love watermelon, it’s one of my favorite flavors and scents, so naturally I was hyped to see this unique product line. The Hanhoo products I sampled were:

Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminator Daytime Facial Oil

Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminator Overnight Serum

Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminating Duo-Daytime Facial Oil

First of all, the product packaging is delightful. It totally captured my attention to visual detail with the shape and color palette they chose for their products. And I love that they use a minimalist approach to the amount of wording and images on the outer labeling. They almost look like they are designed for display. I wouldn’t put them away in a drawer, for sure. I keep them on a shelf in my glass-doored bathroom armoire.

The light, fruity watermelon scent is lovely and not overpowering in any way. Which makes sense since watermelon fruit doesn’t naturally have a robust odor. The facial oil and the serum both just leave behind a clean and very mild fruity scent. Very pleasant!

Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminating Duo-Overnight Serum

Best of all, and the make or break issue for me, is what happens during and after I apply a product to my skin. I like for facial creams, oils, serums, etc. to go on smoothly, spread evenly, and absorb quickly. I also prefer not to have to deal with greasy-feeling skin after applying these types of products.

Both of these hit all of those bullet points for me. It goes on easily and quickly, absorbs completely, and leaves behind only a light, clean scent. I can tell that my skin feels better and looks brighter.

I love smelling the watermelon scent of the overnight serum as I go to sleep at night. It’s very relaxing.

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care

Available at: MyChelle Dermaceuticals | Amazon | Walmart

I’ve used MyChelle products before and already know that I have liked them. So, it was a no-brainer to try their pumpkin skin care line.

The MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care line:

MyChelle Creamy Pumpkin Cleanser

MyChelle Incredible Pumpkin Peel

MyChelle Pumpkin Renew Cream

This skin care line smells so great! I love pumpkin pie, and these have a light scent of one fresh-baked and pulled from the oven.

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care

I like that it’s quick to use. I tuck the cleanser in my shower to use since it needs to be rinsed off and I find that to be easier than leaning over the sink to do it. I just end up making a mess of my sink area when I try to do that.

This pumpkin cleanser removes surface impurities as it hydrates, refines, and smooths skin. It foams nicely and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care

I keep the Pumpkin Peel in the shower, too, mostly because it’s easier to rinse in that environment. It’s recommended for use once or twice a week to exfoliate dead skin cells to reveal newer, healthier skin.

I wash and condition my hair first, then apply the mask before washing and shaving so that the peel has several minutes to do its work. Facial peels aren’t something I’ve used often, mostly because I don’t take a lot of time for skin care. Anything I can do this quickly and easily to keep my skin looking healthy and nourished is great.

MyChelle Pumpkin Skin Care

The Balance Renew Cream glides on my face so smooth and the light pumpkin scent is like a little bit of relaxing aromatherapy. I think of the dozens of facial creams I’ve tried in recent years, this one is my favorite. And it doesn’t hurt that the pumpkin scent coincides with the holiday season, either.

I know the Renewal Cream is intended for facial skin. But, it absorbs and nourishes my skin so well that I’ve been applying a small dollop of it on my hands, as well. In colder months, my face and hands really get dry. Every little bit of moisturization helps, and since I already have the cream on my fingers it’s natural to just rub it into my hands rather than wipe it off onto a towel.

MyChelle products are free of GMO, parabens, artificial fragrances/colors, and other harsh chemicals. They are also vegetarian and cruelty-free.

Bioré Witch Hazel Skin Care

Oily, acne-prone skin can ruin an otherwise great day. Bioré has been a brand that both of my daughters have used to help unclog pores and as an astringent to keep their skin looking clear and bright.

The key ingredients are witch hazel and salicylic acid that clean the skin and wipe away excess oil. They also reduce eye puffiness, redness, irritation, and minor skin swelling.
