One of my big beauty and skin care goals for 2019 is to use more cruelty-free brands. My long-term goals are to go organic and vegan. I recently had the opportunity to kick my 2019 goal into gear by testing out some beauty products from The Organic Skin Co.

Face Products
Set to Impress Pressed Powder in Moonlit ($56) – This is a great setting powder that has a slight tint to it. When swatching I thought it was going to go on the skin darker, but it doesn’t. For me, that’s a great thing. While translucent powders are great, I do like a little color to them. I don’t typically have a ton of shine during the winter months, but this works great at controlling the shine, even when I’m not wearing any foundation.
Lip Products
All About the Gloss in Mist ($30) – This by far one of my favorite lip glosses that I’ve worn in a long time. It’s perfect for every day, it’s comfortable to wear, doesn’t have a strong odor, and it’s just an all-around great product. I still recommend wearing a lip balm under if you have dry lips, but it’s still an excellent gloss.
Lip Service in Ruby Red ($34.50) – This is a neutral red lipstick that works as an everyday color. Even if you’re like me and don’t typically wear red lipsticks, this is a natural red to wear! It’s moisturizing, goes on smoothly, and does last a good couple of hours before having to re-apply.
Eyes
Black Lash in Black ($40) – This isn’t going to give you the look of false lashes. It’s necessary to point this out right away. However, this is still an excellent mascara for work or school.
The Eyes Have It in Day Dreamer and Misty ($36) – I’ve been on a natural eye makeup look, and even started using cream eye shadows. So of course, I had to test out two of the brands cream shadows: Day Dreamer and Misty. Misty is a muted taupe and Day Dreamer is a medium brown. Both are great to throw on, apply some eyeliner, mascara, and you’re good to go!
Overall Thoughts
If you want a cruelty-free and vegan brand, I can’t say enough about The Organic Skin Co. Everything I’ve tried is great! I already have a cart full of products that I can’t wait to order and try out!
